i've still gotta reschedule his 1 month check-up since he wasn't on the medical card yet. he is now though. JFS was seriously dragging their heels on that!

the Delivery Suite

Hooking me up to the monitors; The nurses were all VERY nice.

This thing was in my arm for DAYS!
I eventually asked to have a nurse take it out for me I couldn't stand it any longer haha.


This is my view of the room, and that's my belly in the foreground :)


Kevin wore shorts and a t-shirt, and was FREEZING the entire night.
That's him buried in the couch cushions... goofy.


That room was to my right, and would've been where they took the baby after he was born to do all his stuff, but I had to have a c-section, so we "delivered" in another room. it was much more intimidating than this nice comfy room.

if anyone ever questions why i might be doing this blog for our son, Genesis...

here's a good reason why:

i can chart the progress in his life and eventually get it printed into a book (when i get rich and find another job again of course.) not to mention that people i don't see or hear from very often can check back here for updates and see how he's/we're doing.

just thought i'd share.

Work Baby Shower

everyone at work surprised me with a baby shower the tuesday before my birthday. we were given LOTS of great stuff! most useful has proven to be the blue chair from manda :) genesis LOVES that chair and i think he prefers to sleep in it over the pack n' play lol

the footprint card; if you look really closely, one foot only has 4 toes printed. he was blessed with mommy's feet... lol jk!

none of the little booties for newborn would fit his big ol' feet. these socks are newborn regular socks and they barely fit him. :)

1st Pediatrician Appointment

Today was Genesis' first pediatrician appointment. It went well.

(besides him not being on the CareSource card yet... but that's ok... nothing major; just complicates things a little bit.)

Anyway -- It was the first time I had driven the car with Genesis in it BY MYSELF. I was sooooo nervous!!! But we made it there okay, and were "right-on-time" for the appointment time, but weren't seen for over an HOUR... ugh! (leave it to me to complain about something like that! lol)

Dr. Youngpeters checked him out and said everything was fine. He's grown an inch in length (to 21.5 inches) and has gotten up to 8 pounds and 2 ounces. (BUT, he had a wet diaper on when we weighed him so he is prob right around 8)

He wasn't happy with being checked out OR being naked-ish... but overall he didn't give the doctor too much grief. It was Bottle Time, and he had a Squishee (a.k.a. wet diaper) so of course he cried for a bit. The doctor had me feed him before he tried to do anything major cuz he wasn't trying to hear him cry i guess. lol.

Genesis goes back to the doctor again @ his 1-month; will update his stats again then!
