Yay!!!

Genesis slept through the night last night for the first time!



We stayed at Kevin's dads, and Genesis slept from about midnight til right about 8am. He probably would've slept longer if we didn't move him upstairs, but that's ok! Hopefully this is the start of a new trend! I'd love some nights of uninterrupted sleep!

this was Genesis' first time in his swing; yes, indeed, i'm too cheap to buy the "D" batteries so you will see my hand come into the picture a few times to push the swing manually. haha. i'm broke! what can i say? he seemed to like it, though. or at least he didn't NOT like it.

2 Month Checkup

10/30/2009 -- 10.5 weeks old -- Dr. McDaniel

this was our first time going to this doctor; luckily it's only about 2 minutes down the street just on the other side of the highway. everyone in the office was REALLY nice and i got a great vibe going into the whole appointment.



my only complaint was the length of time we had to wait in the exam room after they told me to undress him down to his diaper. poor lil guy had to be freezing. and he spit up on the lil' sleeper i had him laying on. (hence the wet spot lol)



everything checked out fine; eyes, ears, reflexes, etc. his measurements are:

length: 22.75 inches
weight: 12 pounds 14.4 ounces
head circumference 15.75 inches

since everything checked out fine, they had to give him his 2 month shots. two in his left leg, one in his right, and one oral vaccine. he cried a lot when they were administered, but he didn't really show much signs of discomfort the rest of the day. he slept for a few hours after the appointment, but not much more than usual. overall, it wasn't a bad bad experience. i just wish they didn't make ME pin him down and hold him while they were giving them to him.





they also tested his iron and that was fine too. he didn't mind the band-aid on his finger at all. :)

Bottle Bootcamp

this was the first time that Genesis held his bottle for the first time all by himself. i've been trying to get him used to putting his hands on it but much to my surprise, when i let go, he held on to it! and it was darn-near full, too! yay!!! GO GENESIS!!!

TOUCHDOWN!!!

Halloween 2009



He was supposed to go as the spider that we had his portraits done in a few weeks back, but I had gotten him a "back-up" costume just in case we had troubles with it being silky on the inside and having to find him layers of warm (and matching) clothes to go under it. This football costume was much more reasonable and easier to carry him in, seeings how we don't have a stroller.

We went trick or treating in Kevin's Dad's neighborhood, where the houses are pretty well spaced apart and have dreadfully long driveways. :) but on the bright side, most of the houses either gave out full sized candy bars or entire handfuls of smaller candy.

Genesis fell asleep after about 30 mins, but we were done after another hour or so. it was fun. Of course he won't remember it, but we have pictures to show him when he gets older! <3
